butthole666 06/29/17 3:10:13 PM #3:	Gibson's issue is disproportionate pricing and sub-par QC. The guitars in the $1000 range, particularly the SGs, tend to be pretty good value, you just might have to return a couple to get one worth keeping. Not a fan of what Fender has been doing recently, their necks have been feeling fatter and the options available on most models don't do it for me. With the decision to close up shop on Fender Japan, my preferred Fenders are also now restricted to old stock and used market and prices are prob gonna go up. I have a Squier strat that I've upgraded the electronics on that I use for gigging so my rare shit doesn't get broken or jacked. It does lack something in feel, but the neck is nice and thin and I'll take it over the new US necks any day.
