Board 8 > Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite is so polarizing

The gameplay looks fantastic. The revised tag system and infinity stones look like a ton of fun to experiment with. X and Zero are both in the game.

But everything else in this game looks so BAD. The graphics are all over the place, the voice acting is terrible and lifeless, the story mode demo is embarrassingly bad, and most of the roster is a trash fire.

I'll still get it because X and Zero, but come on, Capcom should have learned their fucking lesson after SF5.

I'm super into the dumb crossover fanservice story for hype moments but I might be the only one.

Dante tossing E&I to Rocket is what I want from my crossover BS. I want more dumb shit like that. Have X pick up Mjolnir at the end or something since Asgard is fusing with his city.

Voice acting isn't great though and the graphics really are all over the place, just look at Captain Marvel next to Chun-Li.

How are you gonna say that DBF looks like the same old thing when MvC:I's models and movesets look like they're basically copy pasted from MvC3, except they look worse somehow.

I don't play those games either, but I like the concept of DBF. Mainly because it proves that MVC's popularity comes just as much from its gameplay as its characters (if not even moreso), and therefore putting the same gameplay into a different universe will still be popular. I hope that DBF can hold up and be taken seriously by those people even if it is "MVC with different characters".

I meant mechanically. I wholeheartedly agree that DBF looks infinitely better, it's just that the gameplay in MvCI looks a lot more interesting to me.

While I have yet to try the demo, the gameplay has some serious flaws that keep me from wanting to play it. That was the last thing left I was hoping for after the graphics, voice acting, story and especially the roster were really bad.

honestly i'm still not over the idea of sigma being the big villain in a series which has magneto in the regular roster.

To be fair Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter had Apocalypse and Cyber Akuma as the big villains and yet Shuma Gorath was in the game and would easily beat both.

There's actually a few instances of this kind of thing.

To be fair it's also Ultron and he's typically portrayed as smarter than Stark who has come up with ways to neutralize Mags.

Pretty sure Doom made his suit Mags proof as well.

On the other hand though, aren't there some magnetism controlling bots in MMX? Not surprising Sigma could no-sell if so, he's always been stronger.
