Like my brain is fixated on it. I haven't played any of the 3DS games, my last handheld was a DS Lite from many years ago. The new Animal Crossing (that is no longer new) and Pokemon games seem cool. i enjoy PC games but i miss actually playing simpler games with a controller or on a handheld.

Worth getting one? Is Nintendo going to release a new handheld anytime soon?

Do the screens look all crappy and low res?

I got one back in November or something, but I haven't really played enough games on it. I mainly wanted to check out ALBW, but it was underwhelming. I didn't have a DS previously though, so there is also that library for me.

I don't think Nintendo is going to release a new "generation" of dedicated handheld anymore since the Switch can function as a handheld. You probably already know about it, but they have that new 2DS model that is now closer to a 3DS minus the 3D (it has large screens and folds, rather than being a single, ugly piece with small screens). I kind of like the 3D but I could live without it, and on the large screens it does make things look a little crappy sometimes. Also I hear that a lot of games don't even use the 3D at all anyways, but again I have limited experience with the library so I haven't played one of those games yet

having played around with a few, not reeeeeeally. Unless an iPad is handheld. it's semi-portable with a short battery life and you're going to want to haul around your wall charger and a case for it. I would like something that fits in my bag and lasts more than a few hours. And doesn't cost $400. though to be fair the new 3DS XL is $240. Stuff is pricy. :(

eBay new 3DS / XL are all over the $200 mark used.

Might just wait for the New 2DS XL, the black and teal looks cool.
