The game does look really cool. :v I just hope it actually has difficulty settings because I have butter fingers. I've never played dark souls but I'm guessing it would kick my butt from what people say about it.

But I love Nier though...

I like its aesthetics (it looks like Automata+Souls), but the gameplay doesn't look that impressive; it looks slow and boring, IMO.

ill discuss my opinions non biased here as i watch video

first 6 seconds: generic drab environment. run animation too stiff, weapon is also really uninspired and super anme

10 seconds in: generic desert gray environment set in generic post apocalyptic civ
18 seconds in: character was looking into the sun, turns IMMEDIATELY on a 180 axis without any real animation for the movement. character starts to run 0 to full speed as well without any graduation in movement

26 seconds: generic looking enemy with generic red eyes. camera locks onto enemy with exact same DS style. Character dodge rolls with almost exactly the same animation from dark souls series as well.

32 seconds: player attacks enemy 4 times. on first hit the enemy experience a massive stunlock, allowing for the player to hit a second time. the player hits a third time, stunlocked again, allowing for a 4th hit. it is unknown if player could have gone for a 5th hit for another stun into a 6th swing. likely the player, through trial and error (terrible gameplay btw), figured out that that particular enemy cna only be stunlocked twice in a particular time span.

41 seconds in: different enemy now. Except instead of white, it's black. and a little taller. the weapon is smaller and has a higher attack rate.

So far the combat has essentially been:
run to edge of aggro range and bait out swing. once the enemy has stunned itself, run in and attack until hit stun. attack during stun.

retreat and repeat.

45 seconds in:
excessive i-frames on roll, just like dark souls 3 and bloodborne (not ds2 and ds1 and DeS )

120 seconds in: enemy is hit twice, getting hit stun twice. enemy just mindlessly flails his weapon around. player just waits for enemy to leave himself open again

138 seconds: player starts to trade with enemy due to getting tired of playing the wait and smack game.

interestingly, player gets hit at 138. it seems that the player cannot move his character at all and is stuck in a hitstun, however, is immediately able to leave it with a roll. likely player, after being hit, just mashed dodge during hit stun because it is mindlessly safe move

154 seconds: player gets killed. the game clearly doe snot use ragdoll physics. the death animation, while quite poor, is old-school snake style where it's the same animation no matter what.

overall opinion: likely an 7.75 game. completely uninspired. generic post apocalyptic world. animation needs serious work. people dont go from standing to running instantly, and dodge roll shouldnt have god tier i frames.
