1) Holy lens flare
2) I'm surprised that CBS would give any show a budget to make it look as polished as this show does
3) I thought everything I heard was that the black woman wasn't going to be a captain even though she is the main character, but I have to say that this trailer makes it look like she will be within the first few episodes or at the very end of the season.
4) I especially can't believe they have whatever the budget is, if the only way to watch is a premium subscription to CBS streaming service. LMAO who is going to do that? It's on Netflix except in US and Canada? I don't think they understand that all this means is that instead of ad rev on tv or payment for online streaming, their viewership will be watching pirated links and they're not going to have any kind of audience numbers or profit.

Looks like the reboot universe with the designs of the sets, outfits, and klingons, I do not believe for a minute this is set in the original timeline.

Show looks good but it being on CBS All Access means it will be DOA because most already have netflix and will not waste money for a similar thing just for one show.

Because the Federation were almost Gods by the end of Voyager. There was literally nothing they couldn't do.

I mean, there are many books that explore a post-VOY continuity. there's also the Star Trek Online video game that does it
I think each Star Trek forum could come up with a dozen ways to mitigate the Federation's power, let alone a team of expert writers

Name something they couldn't do. Time Travel, instant repair of ships with replicator technology, holodecks, transwarp, etc. There were no limits.

Time travel and holodecks have existed in Trek for a long time
Instant ships is more of poor writing to not have to deal with the repercussions they should have done, not a tech advance
Transwarp is the only legitimate one and even that can be solved or addressed in many ways

Understand, that's not just me telling you that. That was Rick Berman's straight up reasoning and most of the writing staff agreed. That's why Enterprise exists. They wanted to get away from the 24th century because it had become impossible to write for.

Yeah and I'm saying they're full of shit.
Enterprise was easy mode to them, and it shows.

TOS introduced all kinds of super plot devices each episode. TNG was the same.
VOY is no different. They're full of shit because they were running out of ideas


There are a whole bunch of writers who grew up watching them and have many ideas. I'm telling you, we could have a show after Nemesis and it would be very enjoyable. There's nothing that good writing couldn't fix that they did.

I was kind of irritated by the way the Klingons look too, but I'm betting the idea is that they're transitioning from the TNG/DS9/Voy ridged appearance into TOS' Fu Manchu look in this time period.
