It's great, but it peaked too soon. Like, right at the beginning. Because the overture is the best part.

When the movie was coming out, I decided to read the book. I ended up seeing the movie in theater 3 times, mostly because I like the music. I also bought the OST. They finally had the play in a local theater, so I quickly bought a ticket for it. I found it better than the movie, but I still like the book the best.

SPOILERS: Actually, it should be named "So-Called Phantom of the Opera" because the "Phantom" is not really a phantom.

Hey now. At least with Gaston, the guy is legitimately the sort of guy you'd normally WANT to root against. He may not be the most evil Disney villain out there, but it still doesn't take much to be "better" than him.

Apparently the South Park movie somehow warrants a mention over things like Wicked, Les Misrables, fucking Hamilton, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, The Producers, Rocky Horror, etc. And, you know, Book of Mormon.

And I won't mention my love for Bring It On: The Musical or, at least, the album because the actual show drags in places.

Raoul turns out to be a cad, though, in Love Never Dies. Plus you always get the impression that his love is more shallow anyway. Not to mention that the Phantom is a tragic character (with a very disturbed childhood) who you still kinda feel bad for because society helped turn him into a monster.

After having seen multiple versions before the Baz Luhrman film, I completely hated that film... or, at least, I saw it as nowhere near living up to other versions.
