8 y/o Amare Stover from Alabama was born with Neurofibromatosis Type One, a disorder that causes tumours to develop all over his body..mainly his face as the pictures show the true extent of condition that he has to endure as cruel bullies at school call him a monster!!

He also has severe learning difficulties as swellings have left him blind in one eye which caused his face to twist and disort because of it..

Doctors said he will eventually lose his sight completely unless he gets an operation soon as the masses will keep growing.

30 y/o Kandice Stover, his mother says her son battles the stigma everyday because of the genetic disorder

She said "He has tumours all over his head, there are a lot of them and they have grown to be very big, which has twisted his face in the process. The size of them affects him a lot, he gets made fun of, gets stares from people whereever he goes out in public and has been called a monster. Some of the children won't play with him or say he is ugly which makes it really hard, i don't understand why people can't be respectful. Some adults have asked where he has got his "mask" from, it's really very hurtful and it only gets worse around halloween. I tell him he is just like any other 8 year old and tell him not to worry because people are mean and not right. In my eyes, he's a very normal 8 y/o, he goes through a lot but you would never know it he runs around, loves sports and plays just like any otheer child his age"

When Amare was born, his left eye was little swollen and after taking him to a doctor, he was found to have glaucoma and NF1. A neurologist almost immediately started working to reduce pressure on his eye,caused by the tumours wrapping around his eye socket.

In 2012, during an MRI to monitor the growth on his tumours, he suddenly stopped breathing and was given a trach tube because they thought one day he wouldn't wake up and would stop breathing in his sleep.

Despite laser treatments, his left eye has swollen completely shut and now he can only see fractionally out of the other.

Doctors have told her to prepare for the worst as he will likely lose his sight and hearing as later this month he will consult with plastic surgeons to see if they can remove some of the tumourous mass aorund his eyes to save his eyesight.

The chemotherapy medication he's been on haven't been working and as a single parent she's been fundraising to raise costs for his bills since the father is not around and she's been the sole provider since. She's struggled to keep a job since she's been raising him and relies on fundraising efforts so she can take him to appointments.

At one point she lost her HOUSE as she needed to fund his surgery to have the trach and g-tube fitted. Kandice had to stay with friends and BEG strangers for money to give her a ride since they don't have a car and use free bus rides whenever she can.

Kandice says medical bills has become such a burden in her life that she doesn't know if she'll ever be able to find a home for her and her son or have a job that allows her to take leave to be with her son during chemotherapy....

A Gofundme page was set up for expenses for the family as they have raised 22,000+ so far

If I were in this situation, I would not want to even live. What's the point of life if you not only look like this, but constantly get persecuted for your looks? I mean c'mon, losing sight too?

How can people still be selfish to think that living is important, no matter what?

Man, fuck biology. This kind of thing shouldn't happen to any living creature, let alone humans. Stupid ass tumors.

You gotta realize these young kids they are going to say what is on there minds and they don't understand how things work, remember I had asked this girl where where did she get her leg from I was like in first or kindergarten, I was trying to be friendly (lol) she end up running off and crying she Ranned to a teacher and told on me.

It's tough to be at that age and maintain composure when you see someone that looks like that. I'm not defending them or their actions, but they are kids and don't understand, nor have been raised to prepare to be around someone that looks like that. I'm an adult and I find the appearance of that poor kid disturbing, I can't imagine how a child is processing why he looks like that and how to know how to properly react.
