If I hear them come in, lock myself in a room or bathroom and yell that I'm calling the cops. Most home robbers will flee if anyone is home, and with everyone having cell phones, they are probably going to believe that I really am calling the cops even if I don't have my phone with me. Unless they're tweeked out of their mind, they will flee.

Rifles can get pretty expensive too. Low caliber revolvers and rifles, plus shottys are cheap, most anything else is $500 or more. Rifles are shit for home defense anyway, shottys are the way to go.

true a shotty is definitely better, i have an old rifle from my grandfather and 2 concealed hammer revolvers. smith and wesson and taurus. the taurus was only $200 but that smith and wesson hit me up for about 4.

The reason shotguns are so effective for home protection is that you only need one shot.

Pretty sure competent home invaders aren't going to just clump up for me to blast like bowling pins.

No, no, give me the Saiga 12 Shotgun with the 30 round mag, and I want thing loaded by my bedside. What? You think those guys or zombies are just going to twiddle their thumbs as I reload? Fuck that noise.

And I have a drone with a .44 Magnum strapped to it so I can take out cars so they can't get away. You invade my land, you're either out in a squad car or a hearse.

This is a good answer too. Dogs aren't easy targets to shoot at especially in a house. It will at least buy you some time and give you an earlier warning that they have a gun when they shoot the dog

A trained guard dog will kill or maim the average home invader. Some breeds are incredibly effective at it and training is very helpful to make sure the dog succeeds. If you have two trained guard dogs an unsuspecting invader is basically fucked.
