ah, so it is basically like the book I had that saved me from dying

sorta. that was an auto revive item, which meant if you got killed it would activate without you having to do anything. with a magical artifact you have to post ahead of time that you're sacrificing it in order to accomplish some task (like when JeffRaze said he was sapping the power from the Lightning Bow in order to fuel one of his devices)

Most magical weapons, btw, are Class C Artifacts. The weapons falling from the skies are Class B artifacts and the Giant's Hammer is a Class S Artifact.

JEFF ZERO the LEVEL 12 WRECK, still close to KAHU who has unleashed the KRAKEN, has no interest in falling weapons... for he possesses the legendary FLAMING LONGSWORD, henceforth dubbed HELLFIRE in all international releases because kids love those kinds of words. He swings it forth proudly, its vile flames licking. The preceding three words are complete garbage; please don't ever actually include crap like "vile flames licking" if you become authors, people.

But anyway, that's what happens, and he swings at some nearby Mermen, hoping to strike his own blow to the fiends. "If only JOLTEON were here to zap these Water-types..." And then he lets loose a terrible scream.

yeah there was some info on items in the last topic but maybe I should repost the list here for anyone who doesn't know

items

armor - if you roll a 3 (or a 2 in mass combat), your armor breaks instead of you dying
ranged weapon - you can roll a 1, 2, or 3 in mass combat instead of just a 1 or 2 (meaning you can miss instead of dying)
melee weapon - if you roll a 2 in mass combat, your weapon breaks and it treats it as if you rolled a 1
magical artifact - can be a weapon, armor, etc. or just a random magical artifact. basically you sacrifice the item in order to get an auto 1.
auto revive item - if you ever died you immediately come back to life (covers more than armor because for example if you were hit by falling debris or killed by an enemy that can roll, armor wouldn't protect you)

abilities

[Cure] - can be sacrificed to cure a wound without spending an action
[Brawler] - it's like a melee weapon but in ability form
[Agility] - if you would be killed by a trap, you're saved. if you would fail against a trap, you succeed.
[Courage] - the next 2 you roll is treated like a 1
[Miracle] - ???
[Summoning] - Can be sacrificed in order to auto-succeed a summon action
[White Magic] - can mimic the effects of Cure, but with other white magic spells as well

you basically have a ranged weapon that you can also sacrifice to auto-succeed. once you sacrifice it, you no longer have a ranged weapon.

Gae Derg has been shot from the dimension rift like a really big arrow. Only, it's not an arrow, it's a spear! Yes, a spear of legend. It's said none can recover from the wounds that it inflicts. You should probably be careful trying to catch this weapon!

Ytterbium races to catch up with the party, jumping out of the teleporter, and then begins to fall out of the sky into the crazy battlefield that has consumed the entire B1 of the Tower. He grabs Clarent, recognizing it as a sword that King Arthur used. What he fails to remember is that Mordred literally turned heel on King Arthur with this very sword.

I figured "earrings" implied not a weapon. And couldn't find anything of the same name on Google.

But today I clicked around and found a topic on a Dragon Quest board talking about "Falcon Earrings" that were actually a weapon.

Thus why I got nervous and tried to take back the claim. >_>
