From what I can gather, they're making the site more PG which means going through the site and removing any fanfic with sex/violence/drugs/etc.
Apparently, members are staging a protest where they are only updating their fanfics with 'Alert' messages, about how lame the new change is.

And holy jesus at how popular Naruto is on that site O_o. I had no idea its western fanbase was that big >_>.

i remember when gundam wing was the most popular work for fan fiction on that site. I think even digimon was the most popular for a while. I bet twilight, DBZ, harry potter, and naruto are all in the top 5 now though

I just went to see if it was true by going on random Naruto M-rated fics, but I couldn't see any alerts/protests, so it seems I may have been mislead =(

I didn't find anything in the Naruto section but then I switched over to the Naruto crossover section and found one author who had updated 4 of their stories on the same day and knew it was fishy.

The site is predominantly used by females, you'll find ample reasoning why fangirls have such a bad rep on there. Twilight/Glee is something I can tolerate, when they start writing erotic tetris fics, thats when I draw the line.

Avatar (unless you mean the movie) is number 1 for cartoons at around 32k.

Hunger Games is only at like 19.5k (one of which is my own, and I just happened to be looking at number of story statistics yesterday).

I believe Buffy is one of the higher TV series at around 44k.
