These people are supposed to be pros, but they didn't start out at SC2 pros. They used to play BW, but was forced to suddenly change to play SC2 because they're stupidly forcing SC2 into the BW team league format.

I don't really want to watch, but I do want to follow the team league until BW is completely taken out of format, so I want to at least know if I'm watching good players or not.

I already watched it, I'm just asking if BW pros are up to par with their SC2 counterparts.

BW pros are typically better mechanic-wise than their SC2 counterparts, but since the SC2 pros have been playing that game longer they know more about the timings, strategies, vision mechanics, and so on.

2 stargate void ray. Waits. Succeeds.

What is this I don't even.

To be fair, I like the mass cannon play. Now, zerg did everything right, and then decided to be Idra and decide to attack into the cannons for some reason I cannot understand. (lack of creep spread to support hydras because of bad mechanics does not help either)

Pause the video at 15 minutes.

And those are foreigners (okay, to be fair Stephano is actually top tier zerg). And TLO most likely had someone open up hellion against him, which is really good at shutting down creep spread.

Then, to make sure like, the worst possible game was not sampled, I decided to watch:

The commentators were saying something like this:

He forced the Z to go Roaches with an early 2 gate +1 attack then went air while the Z was forced to waste his time with the Zealots.

Well to be fair, those were their first televised SC2 matches.

I did kind of feel the same way with FBH though, even though I don't really know about SC2, it did seem like he wasted a lot of units pointlessly.

Oh BTW, the commentators are saying that Protoss is kind of dominating the scene right now(which never happened in BW... T.T), is that true? I'm thinking they might be just saying that for the BW pros' games, since they don't cast SC2 and they're fairly new at casting SC2 games.

This is... +1 timing with no warpgate. That like... should just not work. Like, to be fair I've seen stuff with a similar concept, but you do it with warp gate.

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=327970
Something similar to that but weaker and you transition out of it by teching behind it.

I dunno if the rocks blocking the 2nd to 3rd path help on Ohana but IIRC you needed warp gate to punish fast 3rd on Tal'Darim where a like... chasm would separate your 2nd and 3rd (but it's a longer rush distance than Ohana, so I dunno). And upon closer inspection, not screwing up and making two roach warrens also really helps <_<. So does not losing a roach for no good reason <_< (interestingly, a roach will lose to a zealot if you don't micro it).

Eh... MarineKing (obviously terran) is probably the best player overall right now I think. Biggest tournament (GSL Code S) was won by a terran (a protoss was in 2nd, but IMO, Squirtle just has good PvT and got lucky and matched up against people with mediocre/poor PvP). It's generally considered that protoss and terran are the strongest right now, though. I haven't seen any recent win rate data tho. The last dataset was... weird? It showed like a +10% shift in win rates for protoss even though nothing happened. (okay, the patch hit, but it hit really late in the month with basically no impact on win rates because it was an upgrade no one really figured out).

Well, Tossgirl is a Terran, so... :P

BTW, what happened to Zergbong aka Nestea? I thought he was dominating, I'm guessing he fell from the throne like all bonjwas(except Flash) do?

He's still top tier. He was generally considered the strongest zerg for a while but he never really dominated the entire scene that strongly, with how strong terran has been historically. DRG and even Stephano right now are on the same level as him pretty much.

Oh right, I think I remember reading a while back that he fell to Code A for the first time ever.

I made a topic about this right when it got cancelled, actually. The demo I got to play at E3 05 was just amazing, it was so sad that the game never came out.

Oh btw, I do know you're f***ing with me being a ghost and all, but w/e.

That was some... questionable decision making on both sides.

From Flash: why make Thors? If those had been tanks, he could've held. Yes, he was showing like 8 mutas. But... when you have that many marines, muta might as well not exist, focus on killing ling/bling. I could maybe understand 1 thor, but 3 is excessive. Also, not enough tanks early enough, and I'm fairly sure he could've squeezed in another production building.

From Not-Flash: attacking right BEFORE your +2/+2 finishes? IMO, a bad decision to take 4th in the mid. You have map control w/ muta, and your army is fast. Take the top right main or the bottom left 3rd. If Flash had gone more tank heavy that base would be under serious fire. Running mutas into thor... Sigh.

Much better than the other two games, though.

Edit: Also, I remembered why I don't like the first game. Zerg should be scouting for double gateway first (because he should actually be scouting for whether the warp gate is getting chronoed). I believe he can then respond with cancelling the third and going into a roach bust or building spines.
