Jeff, if you're watching archive-ally, then you should be fine with the final seasons.

Mostly all the complaints I hear about them cater down to 'they held us on a string for six long years and in the end we got bullcrap'.

As somebody who watched the whole series in one Summer, I was perfectly fine with the last season.

And the series finale is amazing. It's one of like, two times I have ever cried for a tv show.

In conclusion, unless you like hating on things just because other people hate them, or have delusions of self-entitlement, then you should like the final seasons perfectly fine.

I can't believe people actually believe that there are no valid complaints and no rational reason why people could not like the final season.

Watching people talk about Lost is like watching kids at school go 'Oh man, did you see that new kid?'

'Yeah... I was thinking about talking to him some more, see if he's cool.'

Even if the guy ends up thinking that the new kid sucks, there's really no reason to not give him a try.

Thanks Han, but I kinda meant the cast wasn't really doing a fifth as much for me as people usually seem to agree it did for them. The mysteries were somewhat interesting and there were a handful of characters I cared about more than passively but I stopped after the first season due to moving issues and didn't really ever look back especially fondly.

And everywhere I go people talk about how the first season is so glorious. =\

When you're in the final season of a show of a drama with a strictly continuous storyline be, and you continue to introduce new questions that won't be answered and new "main cast" characters that will serve absolutely no significance, there is a problem. Not to say I didn't at least enjoy the show, but there is still a problem.

Also, Lost had ceased being more character-centric than plot-centric since at least Season 4 (really mid Season 3). So like it or hate it, actually using the excuse that only the characters matter still baffles me, but I hear it all the time.

Anyways, 1 >= 4 > 3 > 2 > 5 > 6. If I could split Season 3, it would be 3.5 > 1 >= 4 > 2 > 5 > 3.0 > 6. Only Desmond's episode puts the first half above S6.

Regardless, if you didn't get too attached to the show in the first season, and that's all you've seen, then you probably have much better things to do with your time than watch the show.

Unless one of the characters you was Charlie. Then you need to watch seasons 2 and 3.

Oh, yeah, him.

Eh, he was alright. Got a bit better as the show progressed. Couldn't get over the unintentional silliness (IMO, IMO!) of the soundtrack getting all dark and foreboding as he walked up to Jack in the pilot. (Yes, I somehow remember this.)

My reasoning for why seasons 1, 2, and 3 are high for me is because I liked it when Lost focused more on the island than the characters.
