Lol yep, continuing my trend of waiting until the new system is out to get Sony's previous system. :-P Anyway, I'm working a s***ton of overtime this week and making nearly $400 more than I usually make in a week, so I'm thinking of putting some of that towards a PSP. I'm going to get one of the models that can plug into a TV. Obviously, post me some recs, but just one question: can I buy the PSX classics right from the PSP or do I need a PS3 for that?

You can buy games from PSN though the PSP but it's a lot slower and more annoying than doing it than on a PS3 connected with ethernet.

PSX classics can be played on the PSP without a PS3.

Articuno nailed most of 'em there. though i'd honestly recommend ZHP over Disgaea for a token NIS title.

if you need to pick a single Ys game, make it 7. it's awesome.
if you need to pick a single RPG, make it Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. easily the best RPG on the system, arguably the best handheld RPG period.

also get Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together. it ain't a remake to the level of Zero Mission, but it's the closest thing to reach that point since it.
