I watched the Mighty Ducks (which I saw as a kid but could barely remember) and D2. Both great movies, D2 was amazing. I'm watching D3 now and it's just... bleh.
I also watched Miracle, which is quite possibly the best sports movie ever.
I don't remember hating D3 very much. I remember hating Charlie in it, but I don't think I ever considered it terrible... Maybe I just need to watch it again.
Although now that Charlie has calmed down and realized that Coach Orion is actually a good guy (which I knew from the start), it seems to be getting better.

the only good thing about D3 is there finally being a coach smart enough to realize goldberg should not only not be starting, he shouldn't be a goalie at all
can't say making him one of the guys you send out for a 5 on 3 penalty kill is very smart though
Oh good, Banks is back where he belongs. This movie is starting to look up now, but I can't see it being saved from how horrible it's been for three quarters of the damn movie.

I find it funny how little penalties are called in these movies. The rival team is constantly tripping and charging and they never get called on it. I guess this is a theme for the movies though.

Yeah, the movies are incredibly unrealistic in their portrayal of hockey. I mean, what the hell is the point of a triple "deke" (it's really just a stick handle) if you are just going to come to a complete stop and wind up for a slap shot? Who even takes a slap shot on a shootout attempt anyways? And why are they playing teams like Iceland and Trinidad?
