Well, we've got... whatever the good Wild Arms and Suikodens are, Dragon Quest 8, SMT out the wazoo, and that's not even considering FF.

Dragon Quest VIII gets trumped by DQV and VI; two quality SMT games exist on the Super Famicom (maybe more, but I haven't played them), although they're a little dated today; FFX, XI, and XII are pretty roundly trumped by IV/V/VI. One RPG you didn't mention for the PS2 is BoFIV, although that's arguably beaten by I + II.

On top of all of this, you have Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, Lufia I + II, Super Mario RPG, and several others I'm probably forgetting. Feels like the SNES has a comfortable lead in the jRPG department.

We've got plenty of ARPGs like Dark Cloud and Kingdom Hearts, Star Ocean 3, Ys 6 and several Tales ofs.

Not sure how well this fares against Star Ocean 1, Seiken Densetsu II/III, Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, Terranigma, Tales of Phantasia, and Evermore. There are even lesser-known gems like EVO and Popful Mail which are worth considering.

For SRPGs, there are two Disgaeas and other less mainstream stuff.

This is actually one of the SNES's strongest genres, as the titles on the PS2 don't even come close to Fire Emblems 3/4/5, Treasure Hunter G, Ogre Battle/Tactics Ogre, and Bahamut Lagoon.

In terms of platformers we have Sly, R&C and Jak off the top of my head.

Any more worth noting? Because the SNES's platforming library is... quite the juggernaut, honestly.

1 Genesis
2 SNES

I've been thinking about this, and I'm not sure I can jump sides.
