but tbf, that's how it usually goes with single-player games; something like Clair Obscur is an outlier due to its quality and circumstances around it.

for Death Stranding 2, it wasn't as notable since the first game did all of the unique stuff first, and there was no real controversy around the game with the exception of people misrepresenting what Kojima said about it.
