no, the internet addiction happened because a handful of very wealthy tech billionaires did this stupid "more tech is always good for everyone, forever!" and tailored everything to sucker you in to algorithms that are as arguably as destructive to the human brain as cocaine and heroin.

if you wanna know why small town malls are all dead, local festivals are shrinking/cancelled more and more every year/local infrastructure is dilapidated, its because of internet addiction. Just like your muscles, if you dont use em, you lose em.
