| Proto_Spark 08/03/25 10:32:37 PM #12: | The GOT ending was an ending that on paper was perfectly fine, and everyone would have probably been happy with it (even the stupid parts) had the show just spent more time building it up. That ending for like, a GOT season 12 probably would've been well received. TLJ was a competently written film that on paper did what people were looking for following TFA being seemingly too nostalgic and formulaic. It did a good job dealing with J.J. Abrams stupid mystery boxes that obviously had no planned solution, and set up for a very exciting final movie. But it wasn't the movie "Star Wars fans" wanted, and then Disney completely folded so hard half of the final movie was basically actively undoing anything new TLJ tried to do. IMO, TLJ was much better, but the ending of Game of Thrones didn't get so much backlash that House of The Dragon's first season was dedicated to directly undermining it like The Rise of Skywalker did to The Last Jedi. ...
