I've been silent on this for this entire time, but I actually did decide like a week ago that I'm going to try this again, but with a different approach from the last time:

for fun, I'm going to give each album a rating (out of 10) just like I do with video game music. This rating is based primarily on my own enjoyment of the album, but it CAN be based on the album's message too, especially as a redeeming factor for an album I otherwise don't like.

Part of the reason why I'm making a big emphasis on the message of the albums, particularly if I don't like anything else about any of them, is because I regret not ranking TPAB higher in the last ranking. My home community probably knows me as one of the resident "rap haters," and for a good reason given how much I've expressed my dislike of it in the past. So it should come as no surprise that I ranked TPAB significantly lower than what everyone else ranked it despite the album's critical acclaim. However, as even I stated in my commentary on the album, I really appreciated its introspective messages and its addressing of real world issues. I feel like I should've given it more credit and rank it higher for that. It is because of this that I'm putting a lot of weight on an album's message, especially if I don't like the album otherwise. Doing gives me a lot more respect for an album I otherwise wouldn't like, and it's always interesting looking up people's interpretations of any given album's message.
