Road rage is insane and when you're in their sights, the fight or flight response kicks in hard. About a year ago, I had someone get pissed off at me on the highway for a reason unknown to me. For a few miles on the highway, he would ride on my tail, speed off beside me to brake check me, and just be incredibly antagonizing. To shake him, I would act like I was exiting the highway and get back on at the last second. He would get on the feeder road to follow then cut across the grass median back onto the highway and continue his brake checking and acting like he was going to hit. At one point, he pulled to the shoulder and pulled a gun out. I ended up going a few exits past my planned destination to ensure I lost him and I was shaking pretty badly. Thankfully that's only happened to me once.
