If you thought the election was the end of your part then I dont think you really listened to anyone's stances genuinely. You would have to have been either completely convinced that kamala had no chance of losing or woefully out of touch with the situation in general
So many USAmericans genuinely believe that presidential elections are standalone affairs that exist in a vacuum and that all that's needed to "do their part" is check the little box next to their fave and collect their Good Job! sticker. Set it and forget it! The other 1459 or so days they sit around doing literally nothing. They don't engage with people, they don't research, they don't organise (and a lot will silence and push those who do out of spaces), they get all their political information and values from people on the internet, and they don't actively work towards anything. They get fired up around election time, expending their maximum effort to lift a pencil once, and then are blindsided and gobsmacked when things don't go their way. Afterwards, it's fingerpointing and handwringing while vigorously refusing to examine the actual circumstances that led to a given outcome.
