Now, if you're asking why American made movies do this, it's has absolutely nothing to do with realism, because of course it doesn't. It's done because they are making an English movie for a primarily English speaking audience, and want to give the feeling of a language other than English being spoken while having their primarily English speaking audience understand it without having to use lots of subtitles, because lots of people don't like subtitles. --- Mwahahahaha. ...
