Berserk isn't randomly attacks friend or foe in that game. It's attack the nearest creature, which is still annoying, but not to the level of attack random characters.

You've got your classic Charm/Dominate Person that gives the computer direct control of a squaddie, then there's a Confusion effect that has people just start swinging at random, friend or foe. I'm not sure if they use spells or items while effected with the latter, though.

Yeah, but they don't give you the power boost of berserk.

Bravely Default's Confuse has the target attacking randomly (can target friend or foe).

Yes, but berserk still only attacks enemies.
