Looking at 1991 and it's just so striking that so few shows used to air back then, and that half of them were Mecha.

I wouldnt even mind the number of mecha shows, but most of them are also seemingly for literal children, lol

Sheesh, these people don't watch the true junk. I can think of several messier adaptations. Unnamed Memory springs immediately to mind as a worse adaptation just from this season! Whisper is, at worst, just kinda low budget and lazy. None of its problems ruin the tone or the story.
