Not sure why some people seem to think every game should have character creation. In universe it could work seeing as Abstergo fronts as a video game company. The custom characters could be explained as Abstergo Entertainment tailoring the player's avatar using collected DNA under the guise that it aids in immersion or whatever bullshit.
