I'm sure there's some syntactic thing going on but it just intuitively feels weird for a "just because" to lead into a "doesn't mean." I forget all the names for these things but maybe it's like a dependent clause ("just because you have a million dollars") is being treated as a noun, or something. I dunno, I just know if you slow down and think about it, it's kinda weird.
It really isnt.

Weird is one of the ten million oddities in the English language. Using A and B in a logical comparison to simplify conversation; thats rational.
