I don't recall anything about them reactivating by defeating Magneto. They were shut off by a EMP like Cable did to Trask. Trask didn't reactivate when Magneto hit him with a second one. It seemed like EMP but this episode makes it sound like he totally removed Earth's magnetic field (which, I mean, I don't know how he could permanently do that, it's something constantly being generated). Did I read that it was already written or whatever before the dude got fired, or am I making that up in hopes it won't be TOO long for it? :( S2 was already written and voices recorded. It's being worked on. Work had started on S3 when he was fired.
