I understand your hesitation, I had that too when I first started seeing coasters with inversions that used only lapbars. But it's still perfectly safe, you're not gonna fall out.

I agree with this part so much. There's an old steel coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain called Viper (opened in 1990). I started avoiding it entirely because my head would bang against the shoulder restraints the entire time and I'd spend the rest of the day with a killer headache. I hope they can refurbish it with new cars and restraints, rather than destroy it though.
