Didn't one of the characters have a detail in his backstory that he used to torture small animals or something?
Like, seriously, wtf. That's a really bizarre "quirk" to add to one of your characters. I want to say it was the mage guy with the glasses.
That would be Jade, yes. Most of his arc is dealing with the fact that he's a sociopath that has done some truly unforgivable things and how he atones for his past actions while still dealing with the current conflict that he's partially responsible for. It's not a quirk, it's characterization.
