Eventually they're going to go after anything that is not related to gaming-- basically shutting down all non-gaming social, community, and special interest boards. The writing is on the wall with Timmy's posts (and IIRC their lengthier post about closing 261 that I am no longer able to find)

Observe:

While we recognize the value of healthy debate and diverse perspectives, such discussions must remain respectful and relevant to our gaming-focused platform.

Timmy, 4/16: we will be standing by this decision because doing so aligns with how we operate other parts of our platform, and how we want GameFAQs to be positioned in broad gaming discourse.
.... political discussion does not make sense as a core driver of conversations on a site dedicated to video games and gameplay. I dont believe if GameFAQs was to be started today, that political topics would be part of the structure of the site.
