Honestly sounds good to me People will leave once it becomes slow. Part of the fun of CE back in its heyday was never seeing the same topic on the first page for more than a few seconds. As it slowed down people started leaving. When it gets to that point you mention I think people will visit once in a while but the board will largely be dead.
