I was just defending the idea of DLC, since it's not rotten, at its core. It can be done in rotten ways, but that tends to not be super common, and these games tend to get rightfully called out, when they do.
Granted, I'm also a bit biased, since DLC has extended the life of fighting games dramatically. In the past, if you wanted new characters, they just released a new full price version of the same game. Meanwhile, today, there got to be an entire 8 years between Tekken 7 and Tekken 8, because they added more and more new content to Tekken 7 and kept supporting it for years and years. I didn't need to buy Tekken 7, Super Tekken 7, Tekken 7 Champion's Edition, Super Tekken 7 Turbo, Super Tekken 7 Turbo: The New Challengers, etc. and so on.
