I mean, this is basically just a more robust version of finding a playlist like you'd find with any other search query. Really, that's exactly what it is: a search engine, except trained for associations beyond literally finding the word you entered in the results.

Yeah, this literally sounds like a more specific search engine, that will likely learn based on how other people "search" and build from there. I'm not sure I see the big issue.

EDIT: It seems like a more advanced Pandora, which would basically "Here's a band we think is like the band you just listened to" and then "After listening, was this something you liked?"
