Basket Case is easily the most shoddily made out of all these thirty films. The special effects, especially when it goes to stop-motion are laughably bad and the acting gets downright awful at times when it really needed to be good (especially during the operation scene, good lord. Did they have the actors dub over it when they were half-asleep?)

And yet. You can tell there was a lot of love put into it, especially in the characterizations of the hotel tenants, the affectionately grimy depiction of New York City in that time period, and the surprisingly affecting backstory of the two brothers. I really felt for that poor direct-to-video looking meatball. Well, until he tried to rape his brother's girlfriend. The dream sequence accompanying it was pretty creepy and well-shot though. If I had a nickel for every time last-minute monster rape nearly ruined a perfectly good horror movie, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
