Try some more sites/apps maybe? Idk how hinge works exactly, but I know there are some that don't require mutual swipes to at least start a conversation if the swipe scene is that bad. Or post your profile here and we'll critique it. :P

i think on hinge if you "like" someone, you send an initial message, it is received, but they don't have to reply back. And once you send a message you can't see their profile anymore until (presumably) they reply to you. I've heard Hinge > Tinder > Grindr is the pecking order for finding an actual relationship. I've since deleted the app so I don't really have a profile to share anymore but maybe over the summer I will try again.
