Metal Gear Solid Tekken 3 Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back The first three games are in my humble opinion completely non-negotiable. Yes I fully hold the opinion Tekken is almost as obligatory on a PS1 rushmore as FF7 and MGS1 are. It is really hard to overstate how huge Tekken 3 was back then - even today Tekken doesn't feel as big as it did in the late PS1/early PS2 era in my opinion. The fourth game is pretty flexible (some would say third and fourth since I doubt most people here feel as strongly about Tekken being here as I do), since there's so damn many important PS1 games. But I like Crash 2 in the last slot. It offers something "different" from the other games on the rushmore and it's the series that put Naughty Dog on the map. Crash 1 feels more like a Mega Man 1 thing: important, yes, but Crash 2 is the one people really remember and love. It sold more at least. I do not normally make biased inclusions for rushmores but I am making an exception for Crash 2.
