I get what you're saying, however I can also see the other side of it. It would be like if a right-wing piece of shit (Lara Trump) covered a pro-feminist song with a "actually women should be happy they even get to be in the kitchen" slant.

I haven't heard Beyonce's cover, however I do know about the original and if what people are saying about her lyrical changes are accurate, it seems like an apt comparison.

She is of course entitled to feeling like she needs to defend Jay and/or her marital commitment to him, I cast no judgment upon her for that as it's her life.
