This is an extreme example of what happens when willful stupidity is allowed to flourish. It really is time for every sane person to call out stupid lying right wing assholes at every reasonable opportunity. I am not sure it's stupidity anymore. Like someone else pointed out above: Trump has established the template. Republican loses, "says" the election was rigged, and then tries to kill people standing in the way of him taking office. They know they lost, and the election is just a pretense to get what they want anyway.
