That was obviously more of a dig at Oblivion than Morrowind, since the former came...uh, later. Oblivion sold itself at the time as being the most vibrant, lifelike world in all of gaming, and at the time I agreed; going back to it now, the repetitive textures and wall-to-wall hypersaturated green is almost headache-inducing at times. Not to mention the god-awful blend of painfully slow and counter-intuitive Morrowind-style leveling mixed with leveled-list enemies and leveled quest rewards, resulting in the worst of both worlds.

Having said that, I played Morrowind for the first time in 2019 and really enjoyed it, but one's rose-tinted glasses would have to be downright opaque to believe that it's aged like fine wine.
