Sanders keeps running as an independent for his Senate seat. He only decided when running for President to run as a Democrat as he wouldn't win otherwise. As such, I can't blame the Democratic Party for not wanting to support him, even if the country could benefit from some of the policies Sanders was suggesting. He also promised in 2016 that he would stay a Dem and not drop them to be Independent again, and then did so anyways. It's always amazing when people (not you) can't fathom why the DNC/Dem Party establishment doesn't like someone who uses their party to not have primary challengers for their Senatorial seat and then dumps them.
