I dont have the energy right now to deep review this but I think the game was a big miss until after boss 2 of 6. The game tries to really limit you from breaking your character which is kinda the fun part of river city ransom. Money is already hard to get but then they lock moves behind levels, ok fine. But locking me to 1 meal only for stat increases is a bummer. The school has no way to improve, the initial outdoor shopping area grants you some boost but it really isn't until you hit the mall does the game start to let your character fight. Its a shame as the writing is fantastic as is the soundtrack. The gameplay shouldn't be the thing holding back the good time. Eventually the game finds its footing but then you start to wish it had more to do as the slog of enemies takes forever still to get thru. Anytime a lock appears on screen it means you are fighting upto 12 people that take increasingly longer and longer to kill. Its a drag.
