Ive spent the last month as a carer for someone whos needed someone with them 24:7, so its been on the back burner.

Respectfully, as someone who went through 2 stints of Cancer myself, no one is more important than you. Not your wife, not your kids, not your job, Nobody. And its a harsh way to put it, but you can't help anyone else if you yourself are cooped up in the hospital because you ignored a sign that your body is going through something. It may be nothing, we pray its nothing, but you never ever put it on the back burner. If its a job for you as a carer, talk to your boss about setting up someone as cover for a single day while you get it checked out. If its family, ask another family member or neighbour to look after the individual for a couple hours while you get yourself at the very least tested.
