Maybe something killed you in your dream and you just don't remember that part Or you were worried that something bad was about to happen, and then you woke up maybe? I don't have night terrors, but that'll happen to me in my dreams that are otherwise happy till the final moment. I know very little about night terrors however, so take this all with a grain of salt. It's speculation that isn't based off of much.
