Like, I'm pretty sure Jesse isn't going to cook for you if you kill Walt's entire family too. And then Gus decides to just skip the middle man and kidnap Jesse to force him anyway.
Another huge contrivance I've felt is that Walt's family besides the cop actively fighting against the cartels was never really directly threatened at any point despite everyone around him getting destroyed including Jesse's loved ones twice. The fact that Walt is actually able to get away with getting his family millions of dollars at the end is just so lame to me. Should've been unable to get them anything or have someone like Skylar or Walt Jr. die just to show how much he fucked his own family over by getting into cartel crime for his own ego. --- </topic> ...
