In the SEC tourney the top 3 seeds lost on the same day - Tennessee, Kentucky, and Alabama. NCSU had to win and get in. NCSU went on a 5 day wining streak including wins against Duke, Syracuse, Louisville, and North Carolina. Last time NCSU had to win to get in was when Jimmy V led his team to the National Championship win in '83.
