You all seem to have made up a straw man of Scorsese from one statement without context.

This was part of how he qualified it for example:

The fact that the films themselves dont interest me is a matter of personal taste and temperament. Or just see what hes up to on social media and then Im pretty sure youll see that calling him a pretentious snob is absurd.
