Jon Stewart, whether he acknowledges it or not, is an influential voice in American politics. He's not just some goofy comedian. People respect him. His opinions carry weight.

There was a lot of anticipation surrounding his return to The Daily Show. I think it's fair to say there were more eyes on that 1st show back than there had been for many years.

So what message did he choose to deliver? That both Joe Biden and Donald Trump suck, and are old, and it doesn't really matter which one wins because America loses. This completely dimishes the importance of the coming election, encourages voter apathy, low turnout, 3rd party voting, or write-in campaigns. ALL of which benefit Donald Trump.

There is a reason right wing sites like The Daily Mail and even Elon Musk praised this segment, and its not because "it was fair and balanced".

Maybe a few years from now, as millions of brown people are being deported, women are dying in back alleys trying to get basic healthcare, democrats are "falling out of windows," and Republicans are canceling future elections, Jon can remind us all about that time Joe Biden forgot a guy's name. From his jail cell.
