"Baby blood and baby bones / Baby butter for the baby scones"

Every once in a while I think I should go back and catch up on Doctor Who, but then I see something like this and... well, I'm not sure what to think. I don't know if I liked it or not. I'm mostly confused. They sang the whole song about finally being able to eat, but then they introduce the Goblin King, and are they just feeding the baby to him? If so why sing this whole song about them collectively eating it? The song sounded like they were starving; is this like a vampire thing where obviously what they're doing is bad, but they need to to survive? But if that was the case, they wouldn't be feeding the entire baby to the one Goblin who clearly isn't starving. They said specifically "we can dine three days at least," which seems to imply that this one baby will give them all sustenance for days, but then they say the king can eat 500 puppies... seriously, the logistics of who is going to be eating what and how much that sustains them is just all over the place. If this IS a case of "their society dies if they don't eat the occasional baby, then, I mean, it's not great, but it's a lot less evil than if they just really love killing babies. But the song very specifically isn't clear! It is kinda catchy though, love the vocals, and I think over time it might grow on me more.
