I'm conflicted. One one hand, as others have said already, there's nothing wrong with being a fan or even a big fan of something, but when you make being a fan a part of your entire life and/or personality, it's odd. I love lots of things, but I wouldn't have a wedding or other important event in my life revolve around one of them.

On the other, if it doesn't really hurt anybody, let people enjoy it. Let them be "weirdos" or whatever. At least they have something to enjoy in life.

A wedding is not a marriage. A Harry Potter themed wedding doesn't mean every day of their lives is Harry Potter themed. A wedding is just a party and if theming makes it even more fun for the couple then they should absolutely theme it. The only cautionary tale is it's a party you'll want to look back on and any theme can become cringe a decade later looking back.
