And? Like, not trying to be a jerk I'm glad to hear that, but that doesn't mitigate stories like this, that dude who shot a woman in a Walmart parking lot over a damn fender bender or the guy who shot another guy next to his girlfriend while they were in a Starbucks drive-thru.

SiO has the right of it. The U.S. gun culture brought about by NRA propaganda & lobbying trying to mitigate the harm guns bring society and treat them like tools/toys has led to an attitude among many irresponsible people where they view them as "problem solvers" for something nobody should be getting shot over.

The problem is you normally don't know who those people are until they show you through an example.
